  • I only ever go once a year for lunchtime Ash Wednesday services, but it's a very nice church.

Don't get married here! In the contract it specifically says "No Photography during ceremony". Then they'll say, oh sure we allow photography and then on your wedding day they'll only let the photographer shoot from the doorway.

I'd like to echo the thoughts of the first reviewer regarding the lady who handles the scheduling and planning for wedding ceremonies. Not only is she rude, but doesn't seem to have a very good system in place for bookings. We lost out on the location because we had no idea that penciling our name in on an "open" date didn't actually account for anything.

After meeting with the priest, they told us they'd send us a packet of information in the mail, so we assumed we were following the standard procedure for booking the location. When we called less than a week later to confirm everything (after finally receiving said packet on Thursday or Friday), somebody had "put a deposit down" in the interim, which is apparently the only way to lock up the location.

While this makes sense, it isn't something we were made aware of, and it would not have been an issue for us to pay the entire fee up front (if you're Catholic, it isn't particularly expensive...) at the time we visited the church. Particularly if we knew that either A) there were other people interested or B) somebody could come along two days later and as long as they had their checkbook out the location was theirs.

It's a cool looking church, so we're pretty disappointed. Just a little bit more clarity in how the booking system apparently works would have gone a long way. A bit more pleasant disposition couldn't hurt either.
